Anan Creek Bear Cam Project Update – July 21, 2024
The Anan Wildlife Observatory, located approximately 30 miles southeast of Wrangell, is one of the few areas in the world that has both brown and black bears feeding in the same creek at the same time.
T3 Alliance Wrangell students created and installed a dedicated solar-panel power source on the platform's roof. These panels will generate power for the camera and data streaming capabilities. Before starting on the roof, each T3 Alaska student was instructed on how to properly rig safety harnesses and follow protocols.
We are proud of the T3 Alaska students who embraced the challenge of installing solar panels on the roof!
Photos show Brian Reggiani passing up the solar panels while Kalee and Anika Herman work to install them. Spencer Petticrew and Nicholai Bardin-Siekawitch laid out the middle panels. It's rewarding to see the panels fully installed and connected to the battery pack.
T3 Alaska students can take pride in this accomplishment!
